Changing Minds Trust Board Member

Changing Minds is looking for enthusiastic and progressive people with Lived Experience of mental distress, addiction or substance use to be members of our governance Board. This is a voluntary role.


Lived Experience community leadership

Changing Minds is a Lived Experience community of support and possibility. We provide Lived Experience-led platforms to enable living well; learning and discovery; and social action.

We deliver information, resources, and support; shared knowledge and structured learning; and meaningful insight and engagement on local, regional and national matters impacting the community.

As a Lived Experience governed, led, and operated organisation we challenge prejudice and discrimination, and activate Lived Experience values and collective expertise for fresh solutions.


Board Member contribution

  • The Changing Minds Board will help the organisation and community realise possibility during this time of change. The Board provides strategic direction and governs matters of performance. Our skilled board is deliberately assembled to match experience and expertise with development opportunity.

  • Board meetings are every six weeks. These are two hours long, and usually in the late afternoon/early evening.

  • We are looking for Board members who can strengthen our community, financial, education, and research opportunities.


Board Member benefit

We are a voluntary Board with a good mix of expertise, experience and work roles. As a Board member you will have access to the development of skills, knowledge and relationships to benefit your work in governance and career in general. Trustee’s fees / putea aroha available.
